Edible Crafts Kids' Cookbook Ages 4-8: 25 Fun Projects to Make and Eat! Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Stella -- Fun for 4 and 8 year olds : Love the edible art!! The fish on the muffin is my favorite and I would like to try the marshmallow flowers next. I loved that the book has ideas with different levels of skills so that both of my kids were able to have fun with it. I also like that there is a mess-o-meter which helps me decide if I am up to dealing with the after math ;). Finally I like that things like the eyes are used across multiple projects so that you are not wasting supplies. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Holly Hobby -- Creative and Fun! : My kid is a picky eater and I have been following Charity's blog for a while and love her recipes. I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy to review. I love this book! It has creative ideas, wonderful color photos and it uses simple every day items. I especially loved the "Did you know?" sections that gives additional fun information, like the history of marshmallows, who invented graham crackers, etc. There are also top tips and Just for Laughs, a joke section. My child loves jokes so this was a fun addition. This book is geared toward 4-8 year old but my 9 year old still really wanted to make some of these recipes. The Barnyard animals made from pretzel rods and marshmallows/sugar was her favorite. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Leigh Fickling -- Crafts you can eat? Yes, please! : I’m so happy to have received a sneak peek from the publisher of Charity Mathews’s newest cookbook “Edible Crafts Kids’ Cookbook.” As soon as I opened the bright green cover, I couldn’t wait to learn more about crafts that we could make as a family and then eat. What fun! The recipes are easy to follow and include tips for success. My twins think the jokes are hilarious and both are fighting over who gets to draw and sketch the next “extra crafty” segment. We love the book and can’t decide if Peanut the Hedgehog Cracker or Olly, Olly Octopus Biscuits are cuter. This would make a perfect gift for birthdays or the upcoming holidays. Charity Mathews does it again! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jackie -- So much fun! : We were lucky enough to receive an advance copy, and my girls have had so much fun making their edible crafts! They are 2 & 5, it has been super easy to tailor the recipes to their abilities and tastes. All the recipes have photos as well so they are able to flip through the pages and choose the recipes they want on their own (since they can't read). Lots of fun way to dress up growing foods for your kids to enjoy :) ( Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kelly Earp -- This Cookbook Led to Family Kitchen Fun : ** I received this cookbook in exchange for an honest review ( Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from E.L. Strickland -- Helping my kids explore new foods by encouraging them to make food art! : We’ve been going through our advance review copy of Edible Crafts and bookmarking all the fun things that we want to do! I’ve been following Charity Mathews via her blog Foodlets for years and her recipes, techniques, and ideas to get children interested in food and cooking are a blessing. This new book is packed full of ideas to get my children into the kitchen and playing with their food, in a positive way. Each project ends with a cute joke or two (jokes are a big hit with my 5yo), and I love the ‘Did you know’ informational sections that she has added. The photos are amazing - it’s food art at it’s best. However, it’s not intimidating and each project comes with a Messy Meter rating so that I know just how much clean-up there will be afterwards. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Huff -- Creativity in the kitchen : This book is eye candy for any kid that loves the kitchen. My daughter immediately poured through each page and started pulling ingredients from the cupboard. I also found that she didn't make the exact things in the book, but she used the ideas and what we had on hand to improvise and make it her own. I found her "playing with her food" and even trying a few new things simply because of the cute pictures in the book. I wouldn't consider this a recipe book as much as a craft book. Super fun either way :-) ( Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jenny Lee Scott -- Terrific Book for kids and families! : I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this cookbook and am so happy to have reviewed it and used it. This is a fun, easy-to-use cook/craft book to share with your child or grandchild. I love spending time with my grandkids and doing crafts or projects with them. The book is written where the recipes/crafts are easy to understand and prepare. They are so adorable and my grandkids gobble them up! Plus, the fun facts and riddles are a great addition to each recipe. I highly recommend this book! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2021 )
